Inn package rates are for two-day minimum stays per couple and include three meals each day. Our on-site chef can accommodate requests or dietary needs with advance notice. Taxes and gratuity are not included.
Must be made in advance. A $100 deposit is required at the time of reservation. Balance is due 30 days before the date of arrival. Personal checks, credit/debit cards, and money orders accepted. Confirmation of your reservation will be sent upon receipt of your deposit. Room rates are based on two person occupancy. Children under 12 stay free.
The Inn has its own pier and boat landing. Advise The Mail Boat captain where you are going, and they will bring you right to the Lighthouse. Please travel light; you will carry your gear at several stages. Boat ramps can be very steep at low tides. During rough weather in the spring and fall, or at the captain's discretion, guests may be landed at the Town Landing with ground transportation provided to the Inn.
Arrivals & Departures
All arriving guests are asked to arrive on the "late boat" for the day of their reservation. This ensures that your accommodations are ready for you. If you choose to arrive on an earlier boat, we will store your belongings so that you can enjoy the island until Check-In. Departing guests, whether you take the mid-day or late boat back to Stonington, we are happy to hold your baggage while you explore the island. The Mail Boat schedule varies throughout the season, so please plan accordingly. Read more.
There is a three-person maximum capacity for each room (except The Oil House Cottage which sleeps two). The first two guests are covered by the room rate. The third guest over the age of 12 is charged half of the room rate. Children aged 11 and under are charged $50 for their entire stay.
A 100% refund will gladly be given with four (4) weeks' notice. Refunds with less than two (2) weeks' notice will only be given when accommodations are re-rented.
Weather & Clothing
Even during summer months, evening temperatures can be cool and trails have wet spots. We recommend that you pack layered clothing and comfortable walking shoes. Dress at The Keeper's House is very informal.
The Keeper's House Inn experience is not for everyone
The remote nature of the island and the frontier amenities at the inn beckon the adventurer and naturalist who know how to find gratification in thick forests and untouched shore. Rough and uneven terrain is common throughout the island.
Beer, Wine, and Liquor
The Keeper's House Inn has a wine license. Guests are also welcome to bring their own wine, beer, and liquor.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property.
Only service animals are welcome at The Keeper's House Inn.
